After Hours

I woke up one morning, and I felt so weak, 
  Stumbled out of bed, I dropped straight to my knees, 
  I tried to rise, but the pain was too grand, 
  It hurt me so bad that I could not stand. 

  I could not stand, I could not stand, 
  Oh, how it hurt me that I could not stand. 

  I crawled to the stairs and into the streets, 
  Thinking a doctor could surely put me back on my feet, 
  But she looked at me once and said “I'm sorry man, 
  Nothing in the books of science will help you stand.”

  I went to the bank; I thought it's money I need, 
  A couple of bucks should get me back to speed, 
  But the banker said “I did not meet the demands, 
  Tell me how will you carry gold if you can't even stand?”

  I guess my beliefs; I dragged myself to the church, 
  They say that you'll be found if you really search, 
  But I had to reach the priest because I could not reach the lord,
